Pharmaceutical Service

In an effort to fill the need for increased access to cheaper medication, the Foundation opened a pharmacy in 1994. Initial funding was secured through the generosity of The Royal Netherlands Government and many drug companies pledged support for this project by donating an initial supply of drugs to stock the pharmacy. Subsequent supplies have been purchased by The Heart Foundation.

The general public may use the services of the pharmacy and members of The Foundation receive further discounts. The Foundation is a participating pharmacy in The Jamaica Drugs for the Elderly Programme (JADEP). This programme was started in 1996 by The Ministry of Health in response to the difficulties experienced by senior citizens who could not afford to purchase pharmaceutical drugs. We also participate in the National Health Fund.

We do not have only cardiovascular medication available but have in stock all types of prescription items and over the counter medication.

You may fax in your prescriptions so that it can be prepared. Please bring the original prescription when you come to collect it later.
